Three Things for Thursday – 28th May 2020 – WLSEN

Hi folks – I feel that this wee infomail may not be the most important news today with imminent announcement from SG re the easing of lockdown, however please see below 3 things which we hope are helpful or interesting or ideally both!

Stay safe!

1/ VSGWL Emergency Support Fund – due to open today, this fund is for small grassroots organisation for sums between £500 & £2500.  It’s unlikely this fund will be for your organisation however if you do know of any small local groups who could benefit, please share with them and if possible, support them to apply.

2/ Looking to the future – we’re hearing about various types of support including help for charities delivered by Edinburgh University students via Student response network, the Social Enterprise Academy have a range of support from one to one coaching to programmes on rebuilding income streams.  And don’t forget our own WLSEN Support Fund delivered by Community Enterprise – the focus can vary however many folks are asking for help with future planning.

3/ Community Wealth BuildingNorth Ayrshire Council recently launched a radical new strategy with the aim of “ Enhancing local wealth and the creation of fair jobs, and maximising the potential of all our places through working in partnership with our communities and businesses.“   It’s interesting stuff!! Could it work here in West Lothian?
