Three Things for Thursday – 28th January 2021

Hi folks – well, somehow we are nearly at the end of January and we’ll soon be a year into this strangeness! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an early Spring and I do have one, solitary Snowdrop in my garden – gaun yersel wee Snowdrop!!

1/ Funding – many of the Covid funds are due to be out the door by the end of the financial year, including the Communities Recovery Fund – the money is to enable you to support people and communities and can be up to £25k.

2/ Net Zero – with COP26 at the end of this year, things are progressing re the Social Enterprise Net Zero Strategy. For those in areas such as transport, energy and the circular economy, you might like to share your thoughts in this short survey. For those involved in community food, SENScot is running a session on the 4th February, 2-3.30pm, to discuss what support, tools, resources etc, are needed to help you achieve net zero. Contact Mary to register.

3/ Start Ups and Newbies – a couple of things which might be of interest:

  • Discretionary Business Fund – £2k grants for those who are new and may have slipped through the net.
  • School for Social Entrepreneurs – will be running it’s Start Up Programme again in October this year with applications opening in March – you can pre-register your interest.
  • Ongoing funding – available from Firstport who do a number of grants including, Start It and via Just Enterprise, who deliver a wide programme of workshops.
