Social Enterprise Reset Week – #SocEntReset – as many of you know this event, earlier this month, hosted by Senscot and Social Firms Scotland, comprised of over 25 zoom discussions with the focus on the following:
- The challenges that social enterprises are experiencing at present
- How social enterprises are responding – collaboration and partnership working very much at the fore.
- What social enterprises need to resume and ultimately thrive after Covid
The week-long event was praised by Cabinet Secretary, Aileen Campbell in this message and a follow up tweet. Findings from all the sessions are being gathered into a report that will be shared with Scottish Govt and other key stakeholders. We will forward it to you as soon as its available.
Funding
Creative Scotland have a new programme for creative organisations to adapt their programming and content to the digital landscape,during the COVID-19 outbreak. The Digital Pivot initiative will offer one-to-one, tailored support to move programming, content and audience engagement strategies online.
The Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme has been launched. The Scheme will enable small and medium sized employers, with fewer than 250 employees, to apply to HMRC to recover the costs of paying coronavirus-related Statutory Sick Pay.
The National Lottery – all their funding programmes are still open however over the next six months they are prioritising applications that are COVID-19 related – click here for funds up to £10K and here for over £10K
Corra Foundation are heavily involved in distributing small Resilience Fund grants however their own Henry Duncan grant is still open. The theme of the fund for 2020 is “enabling families to cope with the impacts of poverty.”
Foundation Scotland are working in partnership with The National Emergencies Trust to deliver the Response, Recovery & Resilience Fund which provides funding to third sector organisations that are responding to and impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition a wide range of other funds are available on their website.
John Watson’s Trust award grants for educational purposes to children and young people under the age of 21, who have a physical or learning disability or who are socially disadvantaged. Grants are awarded to individuals or organisations working with eligible children or young people. Click here to apply
Local Support
VSGWL COVID-19 Third Sector Support Fund opened yesterday to provide small short term grants for local grassroots organisations and groups. Awards will be between £600 and £2,400. Click here for guidance notes and here for applications. Closing date is Friday 5th June at 5pm. WLSEN are working in partnership with VSGWL to assist in administering the grant
